Dr. Seuss Day

On March 1st, the classes of Prep celebrated the famed author Dr. Seuss by having a morning of activities. For the last two weeks, we have been talking about rhyme and alliteration, so Dr. Seuss has been an amazing classroom tool for these topics.

In my class, I opted to have the kids make their own “Cat in the Hat” masks, complete with whiskers. It was a hit. I found this idea online (after finally realizing I wasn’t going to be able to make actual hats).

Oh, and we also decided to have the kids and teachers dress up silly in honor of the book “Wacky Wednesday.”
