Instead of the usual place for dim sum, my friend Ming had me meet him in another part of the city to try dim sum at a place called “You Xiang Dian.” Here are today’s eats:.
- “You Xiang Dian”
- Rice noodles that were rolled up with some slices of pork and greens. My friend Ming said this looked like it was “Thai” style. I’m not sure if he meant the dish itself or just the sauce.
- “Spring roll” type of crispy rolls. They had some shrimp and perhaps some other meat in them.
- Big fat steamed dumplings with shrimp and some kind of meat-mushroom mix.
- Fish balls that had minced veggies inside.
- Savory porridge with corn and bits of fish.
