As we start a new year, I just wanted to post some photos of things that our class did at the end of the year and just before the Chinese New Year.
After talking about and reading about snow and snowmen, I let the kids make their own snowman using Styrofoam balls, toothpicks, and putty.

Today, being the last day of school before the spring festival holiday break, the Chinese homeroom teacher chose to let the kids paint fans while they were dressed up in traditional outfits.

We also celebrated December and January birthdays with a Chinese cake, which is usually light and spongy and always topped with lots of random fruit.

I look forward to my trip to Phu Quoc, Vietnam, and Laos and telling you all about it!
Hi Greg, Happy New Year ! It was great talking to you at Christmas. I know you were going away during the New Year Holidays but then the dreadful virus is happening. Please let me know you are ok. Wear your mask. Peace, Kay
